The Poweshiek Skipperling (Oarisma poweshiek) is a North American butterfly in the family Hesperiidae (skippers), subfamily Hesperiinae (grass skippers). This skipper ranges southeastern Manitoba and in the US, it ranges from the states adjacent to the Great Lakes as far south as Mexico.[2]
Coloured dark brown on the upperside with an orange along the costa. The underside of the hindwings are dark grey with white veins.[2]
Wingspan is from 24 to 30 mm.[2]
Flies from June through July feeding on sedges, including Slender Spike-Rush (Eleocharis elliptica).[2]
